Hi my fashionlovers ! 2024 was honestly the best year of my life and for fashion so I just wanted to pay a hommage to this beautiful year. So let's see the moments that marked me throughout 2024.
MAISON MARGIELA'S RUNWAY (SPRING 2024 COUTURE)
Let's begin with my favorite: The last Maison Mariela's runway. It was pure art, pure drama with a mix of theater. I did a video about it if you are interested: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNeKCSudP/ . However, if you just want to read the article, here's what I think. I love this collection so much because it was truly a show where the models and clothes were actors.
The runway took place under the Alexandre II bridge. Moreover, the makeup was made by the amazing, the most talented makeup artist: Pat McGrath. She already worked with John Galliano for Dior. She succeeded to give the models a porcelain skin like they were dolls. And finally, can we talk about Gwendoline Christie ... She was unreal and she served a real performance. John Galliano, you are a genius.
THE VOGUE WORLD PARIS 2024
Paris, the city of love and couture. Vogue World turned the streets into a runway, blending archival fashion with modern rebellion. This spectacle transformed the heart of the city into a living, breathing tribute to France’s fashion legacy. The show opened with models striding past the grand architecture in Renaissance-inspired couture, a nod to the era when fashion was synonymous with status and extravagance.
As the evening unfolded, it paid homage to the roaring ‘20s with flapper dresses dripping in pearls, the structured elegance of Dior’s new look, and the effortless sophistication of ‘60s Saint Laurent. This event felt like a grand celebration, where models didn’t just walk, they performed, interacted, and embodied the spirit of each look through the performances of artists like Aya Nakamura. It was a reminder that fashion isn’t just about what we wear; it’s about how we live, breathe, and move through the world.
BELLA HADID: THE COMEBACK OF AN IT GIRL
Ladies and gentlemen, miss Bella Hadid walked in runways and that was huge. She took a 2 year break to focus on her health and then, like a phoenix rising in a perfect suit, she made her comeback at the Saint Laurent SS25 runway. It wasn’t just a comeback; it was a reclamation.
By the way, this collection was inspired by the wardrobe of Yves Saint Laurent and suits of Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. I could not be happier, especially when I saw her at the Victoria's secret fashion show.
She was more active for her brand Orebella and did many launches and she dropped gorgeous looks. She was ethereal and the looks were perfectly chose.
ZENDAYA (THAT'S IT)
There’s fashion, and then there’s fashion. And Zendaya ? She exists in that sacred space where style is storytelling.
Draping in liquid metal, sculpted in custom Mugler for the Dune 2 premiere or paying an hommage to Zelda Wynn Valdes with an orange Louis Vuitton dress in an Old Hollywood style for the Golden Globes. And the list goes on: At the Met Gala in Maison Margiela, rocking a Bob Mackie dress FW 2001 in a Cher way. And how can I forget her looks for the Challengers press tour ...
She reminded us all why the red carpet still matters. Because in an age of micro-trends and 15-second attention spans, true style lingers.
THE FRIST LOUIS VUITTON RUNWAY BY PHARRELL WILLIAMS
When Pharrell Williams was announced as the creative director of Louis Vuitton menswear, the fashion world held its breath. Tell me one field where Pharrell Williams isn’t a genius ? His debut show: a reimagination of the American West, infused with Vuitton’s signature savoir-faire. The runway was a masterpiece ! Pharrell didn’t just reference the house’s history, he expanded it, introducing pixelated camo prints, oversized trucker jackets, and cowboy hats adorned with LV monograms. The details were just as electrifying as the overall aesthetic.
The Damier check was reimagined in a digital mosaic, classic travel trunks were repurposed into crossbody bags, and Pharrell even paid tribute to his own signature style with embellished sunglasses and luxe varsity jackets. Pharrell Williams at Louis Vuitton is not just about clothing, it is a celebration of identity, history, and a future where luxury is no longer about exclusivity, but inclusivity.
ALEX CONSANI BEING THE MODEL OF THE YEAR
If 2024 belonged to anyone, it was Alex Consani. Tall, hilarious, and serving looks. We love her for being funny on TikTok but we love her on the runway. Alex Consani won the model of the year award at the 2024 Fashion Awards. A controversial victory for some who thought that was finally the time to give this crown to Anok Yai.
She is not just a model; she was a moment, a meme, a movement. And maybe that’s what modern beauty is: a perfect mix of high fashion and high camp.
COPERNI CREATING A BAG MADE OF PURE AIR
What is the synonym of "innovation in fashion" ? The answer is Coperni. Coperni took “minimalism” to a whole new level with a bag made of pure air, Yes, air. After the Glass Bag and the Meteorite Rock Bag, here's (without the intension of making a pun) the Air Bag. The geniuses Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant showed us the bag at the Fashion Week FW 24-25.
For your information, the bag is made from silica aerogel, an ultra-light material that resembles a solid gel. Weighing just 33 grams, it is 99% air and 1% glass. Despite its lightness, it can withstand extreme temperatures of up to 1,200 degrees and a pressure equivalent to 4,000 times its own weight.
TAYLOR RUSSELL AND AYO EDEBIRI BEING FASHION ICONS
Some stars wear designer clothes. Others become the moment. In 2024, Taylor Russell and Ayo Edebiri didn’t just solidify their places as Hollywood’s rising stars, they redefined what it means to be a fashion icon.
Taylor Russell has the kind of presence that makes you stop mid-scroll. She kinda has that Audrey Hepburn spirit. Her red carpet looks feel like modern art, futuristic but timeless. Whether it was that sculptural Schiaparelli look that felt like a piece of architecture or her fluid, androgynous Loewe tailoring, she radiated quiet confidence. She doesn’t just wear clothes; she embodies them.
Then there’s Ayo Edebiri, whose approach to fashion is refreshing, and impossible to ignore. Unlike many red carpet stars who play it safe, Ayo’s looks felt like an ongoing conversation with style itself. She leaned into playfulness with oversized Thom Browne suits, delivered polished minimalism in Proenza Schouler, and brought a new energy to Hollywood dressing. Every choice felt intentional, unforced. My favorite look of her was at the Golden Globes when she paid tribute to Julia Robert’s Golden Globes 1990 outfit with an oversized Loewe suit and I found that beautiful.
Together, Taylor Russell and Ayo Edebiri were the best dressed of 2024.
CONCLUSION:
And just like that … fashion gave us life in 2024
